ZYNGA LOBBYING FOR REAL MONEY INTERNET POKER

Zynga Inc. has begun lobbying for real-money internet gambling. It is doing this in Washington D.C and California according to information from the Wall Street Journal. The bills in both of these locations are huge long shots at this present time. Many industry insiders say that a poker measure is drawing dead. California has flunked again even after years of trying, but most individuals say that that a compromise will take place in the state.

The opponents of California’s poker proposal say that they will let the outside interests take the best of the state. Zynga inc. is currently based in San Francisco. Most of the internet gaming companies that are present there say that they prefer a federal regime. At the moment they are hedging their bets on the viability of a state-by-state patchwork. Nevada has already legalized and is on the verge of such an industry, Zynga has not yet applied although it seems that they will eventually do so.

There have been many reports that have surfaced that Zynga is looking to join with Wynn Resorts in the Silver State. The law of the land there says that Zynga cannot offer real-money online poker to those that live within Nevada’s borders unless it forms a partnership.

If Zynga and other companies could come in a run online poker they would certainly do so under the well-established casino operators that are irrelevant in the new business. A popular Zynga marquee game is Zynga Poker on Facebook. It is not a real money platform and allows the players to gamble with fake currency and can be free or even purchased with cash.

Zynga is said to look at real-money gambling in other markets next year. According to H2 Gambling Capital, excluding the United States the online poker market is worth billion each year. Facebook is looking into online gambling but a lot of criticism has been levied because social media networks are visited by millions and millions of minors.

Zynga has relevance in the online poker realm because of the database of players which is around millions of individuals. Any state that will allow Zynga to come in any company and merge with it will be in hopes that a large portion of it will be converted to real money depositors.
