The renowned UK bookmaker William Hill acquired parts of Playtech in a huge £144 million deal. CDpoker among many casino and poker brands was sold to William Hill.

William Hill acquired an affiliate marketing business, customer services operation, gaming brands and websites from Playtech, a gaming company traded on London's stock exchange.

The bookmaker also signed a five-year software license agreement with Playtech for poker and casino, with the option to move into other product areas.

William Hill Online was expected to deliver net revenues of £190 million and earnings before interest, tax and amortization of £75 million. William Hill gave Playtech a 29 per cent stake in William Hill Online, but the bookmaker had an option to acquire its share holding back in four to six years.

William Hill achieved an increased market share after the purchase of the affiliate marketing company called Affiliates United (formerly known as Cpays). The online awareness grew significantly.

William Hill have migrated all acquired brands with its mother brand William Hill.

William Hill was primarily an old well-established British bookmaker. The deal came as a surprise to many in the industry since William was considered to be one of the most trustworthy brands in the industry unlike Affiliates United (Cpays) who was known as one of the most rouge casino groups online. Try to google "cpays fraud" or "cpays scam" and you will find that many players and affiliates have been cheated.
