REVOLUTION GAMING STATISTICS

Revolution Gaming Network formerly known as Cake Poker Network, blossomed after the UIGEA was signed into law. The Cake Network was founded same year and despite an already outdated software Cake Network's marketing and network skills made them very successful.

You can find more information about Revolution Gaming in our Revolution Gaming review.

Cake managed to sign a vast amount of the operators wanting to continue to accept US players after UIGEA. The most important partner was Sportsbook.com / PlayersOnly.com which was believed to represent 50% of the liquidity on the network.

In January 2010 the Cake Network was at an all time high but below the surface lured a catastrophe that was followed by the Doyles Room's scandal less than a year later. Sportsbooks with PlayersOnly left mid April 2010, which crippled the network and almost caused the downfall of Cake Poker Network.

In January 2011 Doyles Room left Cake Poker and moved to Winning Poker Network. Doyles Room was not particular large in player numbers but the incident had major impact on the network nevertheless.

There was a rumor that Doyles Room owed Cake Poker roughly $5 million which technically made Cake insolvent if all players were to withdraw their funds. Doyles Room's executives claimed they 'only' owed $1 million. Soon after Doyles Room had joined Yatahay who covered the missing players funds Doyle Brunson announced he would not be a part of Doyles Room. This happened in the days after Black Friday

Revolution Gaming Network changed name in 2012 abandoning the old name Cake Poker and merging with Lock Poker who left Merge Gaming.
