Full Contact Poker was the home of the popular poker pro Daniel Negreanu who signed with PokerStars' pro team in June 2007. In a separate agreement Full Contact Poker's database was migrated with PokerStars.

Full Contact Poker was struggling after UIGEA and no longer had a home when the Digital Poker network closed its doors.

The poker portal FullContactPoker.com is still an active poker portal today (July 2012). The site contains Daniel Negreanu's poker blog, video blog, forums and more.

In a press release it was announced that all player funds would be transferred together with FCP points at a conversion rate of 2.5:1.

Full Contact Poker was previously on Ongame until the UIGEA was signed into law. It then moved to Digital Network in December 2006 for a period of 6-7 months.

We consider this a successful acquisition by PokerStars for several reasons. Pokerstars instantly got a small traffic boost and since Americans were able to play on PokerStars for another 2 years we are confident that it had a good ROI.

Another aspect is that all funds that were moved to PokerStars were moved without having to pay banks fee's on the virtual transaction. If the same amount of players had to deposit at PokerStars it would have involved a considerable amount in bank fees, especially with the American players.

PokerStars  also gained goodwill as the poker skin might have gone bust if PokerStars did not buy it. Lastly PokerStars managed to get one of the worlds most popular poker pros on their pro team. The Canadian poker pro Daniel Negreanu still represets PokerStars till date (July 2012)
