Grand Virtual Gaming Alliance founded Everest Poker in 2004. Grand Virtual started off as a online casino operator in 1997.²

Everest Poker was exceptionally good at doing marketing in countries such as France, Italy, Spain and Germany. Common for these nations is that the population is not especially keen to talk English and Everest Poker did an extraordinary effort to create the software and marketing tools in many languages.

Everest Poker had tremendous success and did an outstanding job creating one of the largest independent poker rooms in the world. If politics did not get in the way of Everest Poker we believe Everest Poker as we know it today would still be one of top top 5 poker rooms in the world.

Everest Poker Statistics

Everest Poker got sold by Giga Media in December 2009 for $100 million to Mangas Gaming. Mangas Gaming had been busy buying out other online gamin companies such as bet-at-home.com and Expekt. Mangas Gaming is more commonly known as Betclic which is the popular brand name. 

Everest Poker suffered a massive defeat in June 2010 when the French Government presented its own gaming license ARJEL. ARJEL created a ring fence around France and thereby disabled French players from playing on international poker networks. This led to a 50% drop in traffic over night which you can see on the Everest Poker timeline.

Betclic joined the Everest Poker Network in September 2011 which turned the negative player liquidity trend around for Everest Poker Network. Mangas Gaming owns both Everest Poker & Betclic which led to the move we all have been expecting since Mangas Gaming bought Everest Poker.

Everest Poker moved to iPoker in the fall of 2012. The software of Everest Poker is no longer in use. Everest Poker became member of the iPoker 2 Network.

Everest Poker never had any problems with rake back. Everest Poker being an independant network with no other skins to compete with it has remain in control. Everest Poker has once allowed rakeback promotions in the Scandinavian region for a limited period of time. It later moved to a room wide 'VIP Summit Club' program.

Everest Poker does not allow rake back nor do they allow affiliates to give out extra rakeback. Everest Poker offers up to 40% in 'value back' to its players by taking advantage of the VIP Summit Club promotions.
